Virgin CULT BEAUTY haul

So if you read my NY resolutions post then you'll know that I wanted to get into some more "premium" makeup/skincare brands this year, and up until this purchase, I was failing so hard! Sorry premium brands, but I have an unhealthy obsession with Superdrug and their points. But I finally bit the bullet and put my hard earned money where my mouth is. And I'm so glad I did!

Now I may have gone a little overboard with the eyeshadow palettes, but I love a good palette and I knew that even if they weren't as good as I thought it would be, that I would still use it,

So what did I buy?

IMG_0025.JPG

 1. Stila - Eyes are the window palette - Mind.

A collection of 12 matte shadows with a neutral colour spectrum, with a mix of neutrals and red/purple tones, that I am obsessed with and cannot wait to smear across my eyelids.

IMG_0024.JPG

2. Zoeva - cocoa blend.

10 shadows with a mixture of matte and shimmer shades, comprised of a reddish brown colour spectrum, that I have already tried, and are the most buttery shades I've tried in my life!!

3. Morphe 12NB

Similar colour spectrum to the Stila palette with 12 shadows with neutral tones, but also with a mix of mattes and shimmer shades.

You may notice that the colour spectrum of all these palettes are pretty similar and that's because I know what suits me personally, and whilst occasionally I like to branch out with what I use, I thought it would be smart to stick to what I know, especially when buying more expensive products. Now I know what to expect with these particular brands, I'll feel more comfortable branching out in the future :)

Lastly, I HAD to try the Morphe brushes! As of writing this, I haven't tried these yet, but they look really nice, and I cannot wait to try them out!!

And that concludes my extravagant purchases for the month, so far, the Zoeva palette stands out as my fave so far but I need to give them all a proper test to truly decide! But I'll definitely be letting you know what they are like, and I'm hoping to get some tutorials out of them too :)

I hope you liked this post, and more importantly I hope you are all well x

FEB GLOSSYBOX | UNBOXING

It's that time of the month again..no not that time, we all know that doesn't happen for me, but Glossybox time.. I've decided to alternate my unboxings between Youtube and here.. so if you haven't seen Januarys Unboxing, you can view that here [video].

So the majority of last month's was skin care,  and this month is more the "self-care" afters for those moments you want to treat yourself. Which I love the concept of!

As always, you get 5 products in the box, this time we have 4 full size products and one sample... and one of the products is worth nearly more than the three month subscription, so to say it's worth it is an understatement! And the past three boxes, I've loved pretty much everything, added bonus!

The first thing I saw when I opened the box was this face mask, I mean its hard to miss, it's bloody huge.

DSC01812.JPG

From Vitamasques - the same brand the Manuka and Honey mask came from last month, comes the Hydro-Face mask, claiming to give up to 120 hours of hydration, which my face seriously needs! I cannot wait to give this a try, sheet and gel masks are a whole new game for me, I've always been a lover of a good clay or liquid mask so I need to get this on my face!! I also need to get on the vitamasques website and see what other masks they do and maybe place a teeny order!

The next thing my eyes were drawn to was the perfume. I saw the sneak peak of this on the GB website and was initially worried about this, because when it comes to perfume, I'm a stickler for the same thing. Fresh scents with minimal smells.

DSC01813.JPG

L'eau De Rose, is from Jeanne Arthes and my initial worry was that it would be too floral, and I was pleasantly surprised and pleased to say. It's not, there is a floral note there.. it's rose.. duh! But definitely has those crisp and fresh undertones [I read the leaflet, not a perfume expert] But I agree with the entire description, and is definitely going to be a keeper! And it's only £20 to repurchase... although how I repurchase this is still something I need to figure out because they only put the FB page on the leaflet.. so if you know the link. Please post it below, this can't be left out of my collection now! La vie est belle move aside, L'eau de rose is here... and cheaper!

Another thing I saw in the GB teaser was the exfoliating mask.

DSC01827.JPG

Coming from Theorie de Volcans, this amazingly is FULL SIZE and pretty pricey [£20?] for 30ml. But if it's good and works, and apparently will make us all look younger [15 year old realness please?] it might be getting repurchased. Containing Volcanic rock, Mullein Flower, Lindonberry extract and amethyst extract, the ingredients list alone seems interesting. Definitely a "special use" product. And funnily enough I've never used an exfoliant mask before. An exfoliant yes! Acid toning yes! A cleansing brush - definitely, but a exfoliating mask... definitely something I'm looking forward to giving a try.

Second to last was something I got pretty excited about. If you've seen my "Pretty Nails" board on Pinterest, you'll know that 1. I'm new to nails and 2. I really like nail polish and nail art. So when I opened the box and saw this Ciate nail polish in there.. my face lit up!

DSC01824.JPG

In the shade [    ] it's a perfect aubegine/eggplant colour. And yes I tested it. One coat, opaque. £9 full price.. need the entire collection in my life. I'll claim bankruptcy now :S Everything about this is my aesthetic. The packaging, the little bow, the colour, I just love it. And thank you Glossybox for introducing Ciate into my collection. A brand I thought was more expensive and being a novice to nails, one I was reluctant to spend my money on! Time to re-grow out my nails!!

And finally, the last product in the box, and one that 1. I will use but 2. Wasn't really that impressed with, is this.

DSC01818.JPG

The Garnier ultimate blends restorer balm. Whilst the product itself will be useful, the packaging just let it down a little bit. Maybe I'm just fussy, and for a one time use sample it shouldn't really matter, and I get that making the packaging better for something I don't actually think they sell, would be a waste of time and money, but it just looks a little cheap in comparison to the rest of the box. But enough of me being rude, I'm looking forward to trying it, and for £4-something for the full size product, if I like it, it'll probably work its way into my haircare routine in the future!

And we've made it to the end of the box!!

I hope you liked this post: Did you get the Feb glossybox? What did you think of it?

HOW MUCH IS MY FACE WORTH #2

Pretty much a #tbt because I did this post months ago, and of course, you can see that here: HMIMFW #1; but in those months, a lot has changed, I've been trying out new products, I have some new loves, there's some products I may not even use anymore from my last one - I need to look at that post myself [literally just looked. I use none of these products anymore... bar the KateMoss/Rimmel lipstick from time to time]

And if you can't be bothered to look at the previous HMIMFW, then the previous value was £54.40, I'm predicting it might have gone up a little bit, although not too much. I hope.

DSC01460.JPG

If you've been reading this blog for the last few weeks, you'll know I've gone a little foundation crazy lately, so I'm going to choose the one I've been reaching for the most, which is: The L'oreal True Match foundation: Shade: N1 Ivory.

Review/Comparison here:

DSC01472.JPG

For concealer I've been using Avon ideal flawless concealer, full coverage, great staying power and covers everything I need it to cover - particularly underneath the eyes!

DSC01476.JPG

An addition to my face is my pressed powder, and lately I've been loving the Collection Pressed Powder: 18 Ivory. It's quite a fine powder, but it's the undertones I really like, it's better for my skin tone than my beloved Rimmel, and it's become the one I reach for on a daily basis.

DSC01462.JPG

For contour and highlight I've been using the Sleek powder contour kit, in Light: I'm still on a search for the perfect contour colour for my pale ass, but the highlight makes this palette worth the money. I really want the solstice palette but I need to get Christmas and New year out of the way before I go spending even more money on makeup.

DSC01481.JPG

My lashes come courtesy of Max Factor False lash effect: I should have bought the waterproof one but hey - live and learn. I'll know for next time. Still love 90% of this mascara though..

DSC01486.JPG

Brows are probably the most expensive thing on my face, well, when I buy the full size, at the moment I'm using a sample of the Benefit Goof Proof brow pencil, in shade 2. This just happens to be perfect for my brows, I like the formulation of the product and the shade is just right - I could probably get way with using shade 3, but I want to swatch it first.

DSC01504.JPG

Eyes: My most reached to palette lately is either my Rosie for Autograph [First impressions here] OR my Makeup Revolution Redemption palette. Both have really good shades with good pigmentation and longevity. And for "everyday" use, the shades for me are just right. Sometimes I'll use one palette by itself, other times I'll use the both in conjunction - so both have made it onto the list.

DSC01496.JPG

Lips: If you're a reader of follower on any social media, you'll probably know what I'm about to say.

Sleek True colour lipsticks. At the moment I'm between Dare/Vamp or Cherry. Feeling very gothic lips at the moment, but all 3 shades are great if you're a fall colour lover!! Vamp/Dare are both matte shades and practically the same colour, whereas Cherry is a sheen and a more vibrant red toned colour, and for a girl who thought I didn't suit reds, I've been loving this shade!!

So, let's total it all up...

Foundation: £9.99 [Superdrug]

Concealer: £7.00 [Avon - price changes frequently]

Contour: £6.99 [Superdrug]

Powder: £1.99 [superdrug]

Mascara: £10.99 [Boots]

Shadow: RHW [M&S - £18.00] [Redemption palette came in a kit]

Brows: £16.65 [Debenhams]

Lips: £4.99 [Sleek Website]

In total that comes to: £76.60, Not as bad as I thought it would be. I honestly thought with the palette and the brows, it would bump up the price a fair bit, but obviously not.. does that mean I get to spend more money now?

If you would like full reviews of any of the products mentioned, let me know. And as always.
