So over the last few months I've been on a mission to lose the pounds and get down to a healthy weight, all in the aid of me getting hormone replacement therapy for my transition, and getting my cholesterol down which apparently is (or was.... need another test) sky high.
And thankfully I can now say that the weight is coming off.
So how am I doing it?
Well the cholesterol news kicked my backside into gear and the first thing I cut out was all dairy apart from milk (I'm a coffee whore...) I also swapped from white bread to brown bread, and also cut down the amount of it I was eating which amazingly made me realise that white bread was making me really bloated. So I'm pretty pleased that I cut that out.
Pastry is another thing I've cut out, and when I have eaten pastry I've noticed bloating, so I'm learning about my own body during this process too which is insightful and more importantly helpful for the future.
Now if you ignore my bad food binge session that lasted two weeks in the beginning of May, then I've pretty much cut out refined sugar too (exception; Coffee... although I have reduced the amount of sugar and the amount of cups of coffee I have daily)
There is also no salt in my house any more.. that's mainly for my mother but I jumped on her bandwagon in support so food can be a little bland at times until my tastebuds readjust to not having "extra" salt on my food.
In terms of exercise, I've been using my exercise bike at least twice a week and my dog is extremely happy because walking has become somewhat of a meditative thing for me now and of course, he gets to come along for the journey. And of course, work helps becauseI spend at least 6 hours on my feet whilst I'm in work.
If you're wondering about stats, I can honestly say that I don't keep them. I don't own a pair of scales and the only tracker I keep is my clothing size which I've gone from a 16-18 down to a solid 14. Which I'm happy with so far.
If you have any tips or tricks to losing weight then let me know in the comments. And I'll be updating you soon x
